What are the benefits of working offshore ?

There are a whole range of attractions to working offshore, but for most people it is about lifestyle, earnings potential, quality of work, and opportunities for career development.  Working offshore can provide interesting and well-paid work with leading international companies, and the offshore locations usually offer a high standard of living, in an attractive location, with great recreational opportunities.

What sort of jobs do you have available ?

We have hundreds of opportunities available in a range of sectors, in a variety of locations, and at various levels !  Whether you are an accountant or lawyer, a trust officer or fund administrator, a secretary or an accounts assistant, we are sure to have suitable opportunities for you, subject to visa / work permit restrictions (N.b. See below).

What sort of firms and companies do you have jobs available with ?

Our clients include all sizes of audit and accounting firms (from "Big-4" international to smaller local firms), law firms, banks, trust companies, investment and fund management companies, and insurance companies.   From time-to-time we also have positions available with commercial companies in the offshore locations, but the financial and professional services sectors are the main employers in these locations.

What sort of salary can I expect ?

This will depend on the position and the location.  In addition to salary there may well be other benefits such as bonuses, private medical cover, travel allowances, subsidised loans, etc., etc.  Please contact us and we will be pleased to advise what we consider your realistic earnings potential to be.

How much tax will I have to pay ?

The level of tax you pay will depend on the offshore location you will be working in, but generally the offshore locations offer low tax levels, or even no tax payable at all !  In addition to income tax, social security contributions may be payable, but sometimes the benefit of these contributions can be transferred back to your home country under reciprocal agreements.  Please contact us for more information.

Will I need a visa or work permit ?

Unless you are already based in (or qualified to live in) one of the offshore locations, (e.g. Guernsey, Jersey, Gibraltar) you will probably need a visa, work permit or licence to enable you to work offshore.  We have extensive experience in assisting with all the necessary arrangements, and assisting clients and candidates with these matters is all part of our service.

Can I bring my partner / family with me ?

That will depend on the laws and regulations in the offshore location concerned, and will also depend on factors such as your partners qualifications, domestic circumstances, etc., etc.  It may well be possible to bring your partner / family with you, particularly for qualified and experienced professionals, but each case is different.  Please consult us so we can advise on the possibilities.

Will I get help with my relocation costs ?

The best answer to this is "Yes, probably !".  However, the availability and amount of any relocation assistance will depend on the offshore location you are going to, where you are coming from, your personal circumstances, the client's policies, etc. etc.   Please contact us and we will be pleased to advise you.

Where will my interviews take place ?

This will depend on your present location and the offshore location you are being interviewed for.  We regularly arrange telephone and video-conference interviews between locations all over the world.  If you are already located relatively close to the offshore location, one of our clients may well pay for you to fly over for interview.

What information will you need from me ?

A copy of your CV / resume in its existing format will probably be fine.  We will reformat the information you provide us with to meet the requirements of the relevant organisation(s) / role(s).

Will someone from Atlas be available at my new location ?

We have offices in Guernsey, Jersey, Gibraltar as well as local representatives in other offshore locations, so there is a good chance we will have someone available to meet and help you.  In these locations we can provide a comprehensive relocation service, including meeting you at the airport, assisting with finding accommodation, introducing you to the local sports and social scene, etc. etc.

How do I find out more ?
